Congratulations to the Wellington Open Women and the Mens 2nd rep teams for winning their respective Quadrangular fixtures at Naenae over the weekend. Lisa White and Helen King were the pairs combination, and Leigh Griffin skipped the four in the Open Womens team winning with 13 points ahead of Canterbury on 10. Laurie Guy lead the Mens 2nd team to a win with three wins in the singles including an impressive 25-6 win over Canterbury, and 25-9 over Marlborough.
Laurie has been rewarded with selection in the ten-man Hexagonal team to play in the Manawatu this weekend where he will again play singles. Tim Toomey and Raymond Martin are also in the mens team, while Helen King, Nicole Toomey, Hayley May and Leigh Griffin are in the womens teams.
After the quadrangular, the Lisa White and Helen King pairs combination continued their good form reaching the semifinals of the Wellington Open Pairs where they will play clubmates Kay Carr and Leigh Griffin on Sunday 2nd March back at Naenae.
