The 2-4-2 championship for members between 1-7 years of playing was completed on Sunday after it wasn’t able to be completed last season before the greens closed.
Robert Gray & Rhys Barlow must have dreamed the most of winning this over the off-season, as they came out victors 17-7 over Alan Woods & Baz Dynan in the final. This was actually a reversal of the result between these two pairs in the qualifying stages, when Alan & Baz won 19-17. The more experienced Robert & Rhys came through in the money game though when it mattered most.
The two R’s did get out to a great start in the final, getting a 3 on the first end and going out to an early lead of 6-1 before Alan & Baz fought back to 6-5 after 7 ends. That was as close as the score in the final would be from there, with Rhys & Robert gradually extending their lead and not needing to play the last end.
This was their second consecutive win in the 1-7 pairs.
Now, onwards to the 2019-20 season for everyone!!
