As we move towards club championships for a new season, here are some of the club championship achievements we saw last season, as per the Victoria Titles records.
Women
- Helen King reached her 45th club title, and also extended the all-time record for most club titles at Victoria to 46. That’s 10 ahead of Leigh Griffin in second place.
- Helen King also notably won all four women’s club titles. She also did this 20 years ago in the 2003-04 season.
- Nina De Munnik won her 20th club title
- Robyn Rintoul won her 10th club title
Men
- Lou Newman extended the men’s all-time record for most titles to 31. 4 ahead of W.N. Tucker (who won his titles from 1918 – 1944
- Laurie Guy won his 25th club title, and his 10th fours title
- Barry O’Brien won his 5th triples title
- The triple of Adam Newman, Barry O’Brien, and Lou Newman became the first ever team to ‘three-peat’ the club triples.
Mixed
- Barry O’Brien and Nina De Munnik became the first winners of a mixed club title, winning the inaugural mixed pairs
